2015 · Sindelfingen: ein Kapitel der Splashdiving-Geschichte

SPLASHDIVING WM 2015
Journal · Sindelfingen 2015
A summer weekend.
An international scene.
At the end of August, the outdoor pool in Sindelfingen became the meeting place for the Splashdiving World Championships. A contemporary report records who came together and how the weekend began.
29 and 30 August 2015: World Championships at the outdoor pool.
The report from Saturday 29 August describes sunshine, temperatures just shy of 30°C and around 70 athletes from Germany, Russia, Finland, India and other countries. Qualifying took place on Saturday, with the finals scheduled for Sunday. Stuttgarter Zeitung / dpa · 29.08.2015 ↗
According to the report, the competition featured jumps from three, five and ten metres. The moves and the splashes were judged; the article describes an event where having fun came first. Stuttgarter Zeitung / dpa ↗
This gives us a concrete place for the weekend in the archive. It’s more than a year recalled from memory: it’s a documented moment in Splashdiving’s history in Sindelfingen.
More than a result on a list.
A World Championship is about the people who compete, as well as those who work behind the scenes and watch from the sidelines. To complete this retrospective, we’d like to add their perspectives, along with original photos, verifiable credits and the results from the time.
The report used here was published on the Saturday before the final. It therefore isn’t evidence of the final placings. The final report added below documents selected results; it is not a complete results list.

Current organisation and later events are being researched separately. This article stays with the documented 2015 World Championship weekend and does not present the past as a current partnership.
The final: Fritz and Riede win.
The report published on 31 August documents Franziska Fritz as the women’s champion and Rainhard Riede as the men’s champion; Lukas Eglseder placed third. It also states that Fritz had no other competitor in the women’s final. That qualification belongs beside the title, not hidden from the record. L’essentiel / dpa · 31.08.2015 ↗
A historical retrospective edited in October 2026, not an original live report. The archive date follows the event or source date explained here. Only attributed original photographs are used. For these original archive URLs, 1 January is a year-only sorting date, not the event day.
