The outdoor pool becomes a meeting place.
Above the water, everything is still for an instant. Beside the pool, it is another story: people crowd together, cameras point upwards, someone waits for their next dive. The summer of 2006 left many pictures like these.
A place beside the water.
In the wide view, the pool becomes a ring of spectators. The people around the edge belong in the picture as much as the person diving. Behind them, ordinary summer continues among trees, lawns and colourful parasols.
Then the camera moves closer. Three people sit side by side in the shade; a group gathers for a photograph. These small pauses between dives give the archive its closeness. Not every memory needs to be a highlight.

The short distance to the surface.
Against the clouds, a body is a narrow outline. Seen from above, blue fills almost the entire frame. The same sport looks different as soon as the camera changes position.
The photographs hold different body positions without turning them into instructions. Open one larger and spend a moment with it. What seems distant from the ground becomes surprisingly clear in a photograph.

Back among the others.
After the air comes the water. A body disappears into spray, returns to the surface, and the day continues beside the pool. Among the diving pictures is a quieter view: a green cap, an orange shirt and a ribbon around a neck.
The year leaves more than the shape of a dive behind. The wide pool view and the individual person sit beside one another in the archive. Both belong to Splashdiving.
