Above water.
Underwater.
A tower. A crowd looking up. Two divers taking off together. The 2005 Eurotour stops in Oer-Erkenschwick, and the camera stays with it: from poolside to beneath the surface. These photographs are not only about the splash. They show everything around it.

The pool becomes a stage.
The Maritimo from above, the decorated tower and spectators beside the pool. This is the setting before the next take-off becomes a photograph. The surviving original programme advertised training, qualifying, freestyle demonstrations and individual and synchronised finals for 22–24 July 2005.

Two at the top.
A shared moment.
Ron Knaub and Thorsten Braun stand side by side on the tower. Other photographs capture paired take-offs and individual moments in flight. Closeness, timing and body control are visible without turning the archive into an invented results list.

The splash is not the end.
Below the surface, the perspective changes. Bubbles rise. The divers make their way back towards the light. The underwater photographs give this tour stop another dimension: not louder, but closer.
The programme from back then.
A surviving poster is part of the record. It documents the advertised weekend programme at the Maritimo. Its entries are contemporary announcements, not a retrospectively verified results sheet.
Archive and location attribution: Oliver Hillebrecht. July 22 in the Journal marks the beginning of the weekend advertised in the original programme, not the original publication date of this retrospective. The collection contains 24 photographs and one historical programme. Historical show dives are not instructions.
